Blocksy <= 2.0.22 - Cross-Site Request Forgery to Notice Dismissal

Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF)
CVE CVE-2024-31382
CVSS Medium (4.3)
Publicly Published April 10, 2024
Last Updated July 9, 2024
Researcher Dhabaleshwar Das
Description

The Blocksy theme for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in versions up to, and including, 2.0.22. This is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the wp_ajax_blocksy_notice_button_click ajax action. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to dismiss notices via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link. CVE-2024-37469 is likely a duplicate of this issue.
