Complianz <= 6.4.5 (Premium <= 6.4.7) - Cross-Site Request Forgery

Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF)
CVE CVE-2023-34030
CVSS Medium (4.3)
Publicly Published June 20, 2023
Last Updated January 22, 2024
Researcher Rafie Muhammad
Description

The Complianz plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery to Stored Cross-Site Scripting in versions up to, and including, 6.4.5 (Free) and 6.4.7 (Premium). This is due to missing nonce validation on several functions called via AJAX actions such as cmplz_delete_cookiebanner(), cmplz_duplicate_cookiebanner(), maybe_install_suggested_plugins (), and ajax_create_pages() to list a few. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to invoke these functions and perform multiple actions like deleting/duplicating cookie banners installing suggested plugins, creating pages, and more via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link.
