Multiple Themes (Various Versions) - Reflected Cross-Site Scripting via Search Field

Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting')
CVE CVE-2023-2813
CVSS Medium (6.1)
Publicly Published August 14, 2023
Last Updated January 22, 2024
Researcher Random Robbie
Description

Multiple themes for WordPress are vulnerable to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting via the search field in various versions due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a link.
