Taskbot <= 6.4 - Authenticated (Subscriber+) Arbitrary File Deletion

Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal')
CVE CVE-2025-58959
CVSS High (8.1)
Publicly Published September 30, 2025
Last Updated October 29, 2025
Researcher 0xd4rk5id3
Description

The Taskbot plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion due to insufficient file path validation in all versions up to, and including, 6.4. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to delete arbitrary files on the server, which can easily lead to remote code execution when the right file is deleted (such as wp-config.php).
